Um... What is IPL?
1 | IPL stands for intense pulsed light. It's a clinically approved hair removal method that targets the melanin inside hair follicles
2 | The light interrupts hair growth cycles, which causes hair to grow back thinner, slower, and eventually stop growing altogether
How does it work?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal works by emitting intense light pulses that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The absorbed light is then converted into heat, which damages the hair follicles and inhibits future hair growth.
IPL and laser are two common hair removal methods that use light energy to heat and destroy hair follicles, slowing down regrowth.
While both require periodic use for desired effects, laser hair removal needs professional operation and frequent salon visits. Whereas IPL is safer and can be used by anyone at home for convenient, painless hair removal without damaging the skin.
How to use
1 | Clean, dry and shave the treatment area
2 | Choose suitable level based on your skin tone and hair colour (Information on this can be found in your user manual)
3 | Hold handset vertically against treatment area, press flash button, move handset to next area and repeat
4 | Finish by applying a soothing moisturizer or aloe vera gel
5 | Repeat three times a week for weeks 1 - 4. From weeks 5 - 8 use your IPL handset once every two weeks and once a month if necessary thereafter.
